Our Core Privacy Pledge

Google Color Picker does not upload, transmit, store, or log any images, screenshots, or creative files you inspect. All pixel decoding, K-Means palette extraction, and color science calculations are performed 100% locally inside your web browser's memory using HTML5 Canvas and Web Workers.

1. Zero Image Data Collection & Sandboxing

When you upload an image, drop a file, paste from clipboard (Ctrl+V), or pick colors from your screen, the image data is converted into an in-memory bitmap strictly inside your local browser tab.

At no point are pixel data, image metadata (EXIF data), or extracted colors sent to our servers or third-party cloud endpoints. Once you close or refresh your browser tab, unpinned image bitmaps in memory are immediately garbage-collected by your browser engine.

2. Local Storage & Device Persistence

Google Color Picker utilizes modern browser localStorage solely to provide convenience features across your sessions. We store:

Theme Preferences (gcp_theme): Remembers whether you selected Light Mode or Dark Mode.
Saved Palettes Library (gcp_saved_palettes): Stores palettes you deliberately choose to save so you can access and export them later.
Recent Color Swatches: Temporarily holds your picked hex codes locally for easy comparison.

This data resides exclusively on your local device and is never synchronized to an external database.

3. No Accounts, Passwords, or Personal Identifiers

We do not require user accounts, registration, email signups, social logins, or credit cards. You are free to utilize the entirety of the tool suite completely anonymously.

4. Third-Party Services & Hosting Infrastructure

To deliver fast, reliable, and secure web assets worldwide, we utilize industry-standard infrastructure providers:

Content Delivery Network (CDN) & Static Hosting: Serves HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SVG icons with high availability and DDoS protection. Standard server access logs (such as IP address, user-agent string, and requested page URL) may be generated for security and traffic diagnostics.
Google Fonts: Web typography is retrieved via Google Fonts to render modern typography like Geist and Inter.

5. Cookies & Analytics

Google Color Picker does not use invasive cross-site tracking cookies. If privacy-preserving, aggregated web analytics are deployed in the future, they will strictly measure aggregate metrics (such as daily active pageviews and bounce rates) without fingerprinting or tracking individual users across the web.

6. User Data Rights & How to Purge Local Storage

Under data protection regulations including the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California), you maintain complete dominion over your data. Because all saved palettes are stored directly in your browser:

To clear all locally saved data at any time:

Visit the Saved Palettes page and click "Clear All Saved Palettes".
Alternatively, open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), navigate to Application → Local Storage, and clear storage.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Our services are designed for general audiences including students, creators, and professionals. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or retain personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable EU jurisdictions).
